Commission on Phytosanitary Measures in Global Commerce Policy

In this regard, commission on phytosanitary measures is: established under the auspices of the Food and Agricultural Organization through the 1997 revision of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). Its main functions are (a) to review the state of plant protection in the world and the need for action to control the international spread of pests and their introduction into endangered areas, (b) develop and adopt international standards, and (c) establish rules for the resolution of disputes concerning obligations under the IPPC.
