Definition of Collective Solidarity

The Canada social science dictionary [1] provides the following meaning of Collective Solidarity: Similar in meaning to Emile Durkheim’s term ‘mechanical solidarity’ this refers to a state of social bonding or interdependency which rests on similarity of beliefs and values, shared activities, and ties of kinship and cooperation among members of a community.
