In this regard, code on commercial counterfeiting is: an instrument proposed by the United States in the Tokyo Round. The entries on trade policy are here. It was designed to combat counterfeiting of products traded internationally. There was no agreement then on its feasibility or desirability, but the Uruguay Round produced the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights.[1]
