English Legal System: Children in Need
In the context of the English law, A Dictionary of Law provides the following legal concept of Children in Need : Those children designated by the Children Act 1989 as being in need of special support and provision by the *local authority. They include disabled children and children who are unlikely to maintain a reasonable standard of health or development without the provision of these special services.
