English Legal System: Child of The Family

In the context of the English law, A Dictionary of Law provides the following legal concept of Child of The Family : A person considered under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973, the Domestic Procedures and Magistrates’ Courts Act 1978, and the Children Act 1989 to be the child of a married couple, although not necessarily born to or adopted by them, on the grounds that he or she has been treated by them as their own child. Courts have powers to make orders in favour of children of the family in all *family proceedings.
