In relation to securing dangerous material (in case of crisis or terrorism) a meaning of bioterrorism may be outlined, in general regarding European law, as follows: The intentional release or dissemination by terrorist of biological agents (bacteria, viruses, or toxins) to cause fear, illness or death in people, animals or plants and/or disrupting social, economic or political stability[1]

Bioterrorism in the National Security Context

A definition and brief description of Bioterrorism in relation to national security is as follows:The use of a biological weapon against a civilian or military population by a government, organization, or individual. As with any form of terrorism, its purposes include the undermining of morale, creating chaos, or achieving political goals. Biological weapons use microorganisms and toxins to produce disease and death in humans, livestock, and crops.
