In the context of the English law, A Dictionary of Law provides the following legal concept of Bereavement Benefit : A benefit payable to widows and widowers, under the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999, subject to certain conditions. It consists of a bereavement payment (made as a lump sum), a widowed parent allowance (where applicable), and a bereavement allowance.
