The definition of Approaches in the law of the United States, as defined by the lexicographer Arthur Leff in his legal dictionary is:

Roads, ways, passages, etc. giving access to a piece of property, e.g., approaches to a bridge, or to loading ramps. A conveyance “together with approaches” would also convey approaches or at least an easement of their use.
