What does Alternative sentence mean in American Law?
The definition of Alternative sentence in the law of the United States, as defined by the lexicographer Arthur Leff in his legal dictionary is:
A sentence in a criminal case giving the convicted person a choice of punishment. The only modem alternative sentences of any significance are those traffic-court sentences in “10 days or $100” form.
