Acquis communitaire in Global Commerce Policy

In this regard, acquis communitaire is: all legislation adopted under the treaties establishing the European Communities, including regulations, directives, decisions, recommendations and opinions. Title I of the Treaty of Maastricht sets maintaining and building the acquis communitaire as one of the objectives of the European Union. When a country accedes to the European Union, its national legislation needs to be harmonized with the acquis communitaire. This can mean revising hundreds of parliamentary acts.
