Meaning of Civil Death
A man convicted of treason or who adjured the realm or went into a monastery was said to be civilly dead. The state of a person , who though possessing natural life, has lost all civil rights and as to them is considered dead. Hayoshi v Lorenz, (Cal.App.) 258 P.2d 1039.
Civil Death Alternative Definition
That change of state of a person which is considered in the law as equivalent to death. See “Death.”
