Meaning of Uncontrolled Impulse

An impulse towards the commission of a criminal act of such intensity that it cannot be resisted by a person subject to it. An impulse that destroys the power of accused to comprehend rationality of the nature, character and consequence of particular act or acts charged against him. This defence is not available where, however strong the impulse may have been, the accused understands the nature and character of the act or acts and knows that it is wrong.
