Meaning of Reserve Fund

Moneys made or saved or set apart, usually as a result of the operation of a commercial venture, from year to year and not paid out in dividends or otherwise to those entitled to share in the profits. It is the current surplus of assets over liabilities and f.r.s. part of the profits, set aside to meet unforseen contingencies, to cover losses and if need be to pay dividends.
