Meaning of Mandatory Provisions

In respect to statute the term denotes a provision the omissi: to follow which renders the thing done vo as opposed to a directory provision the observance of which is not necessary validate the doing of the act. See Olson. Lindberg, 85 N. W.2d 775, 2 Wis.2d 229.
