Meaning of Emolument

A profit , gain or advantage. It has a wider meaning than remuneration and includes, in addition, the compensation, salary , fees, perquisites and benefits arising from an office or employment. Taxpayers League of Carbon county v McPherson, 54 P..2d897, 106 A.L.R. 767, 49 Wyo. 251.

Emolument Alternative Definition

Any pecuniary advantage, profit, or gain arising from the possession of an office. It imports more than “salary” or “fees,” and includes any perquisite, advantage, profit, or gain arising from the possession of an office. 105 Pa. St. 303.
