Reverse Notification
Reverse notification in Global Commerce Policy
In this regard, a definition of this issue is as follows: the normal way to achieve transparency in the GATT, and now the WTO, is for governments to notify other members of trade measures they have taken or are about to take. The entries on trade policy are here. A different approach was adopted at the end of the Tokyo Round when a database was established within the GATT Secretariat based on notifications made by governments of measures contained by others, i.e. through reverse notification. See also notification.[1]
