Definition of Public Outreach in the context of the United States election law: Provision of information to populations who might not otherwise have access to it. In many cases, groups providing information are not stationary but mobile. Outreach has an educational role, raising voters’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities and of the importance of participating in elections. Outreach is often meant to fill gaps in services provided by mainstream, often government actors, and is usually carried out by non-profit, non-governmental organisations.
