Meaning of Caedua
(Lat. from caedere, to cut). In the civil and old common law. Kept for cutting; intended or used to be cut. A term applied to wood. Silva caedua est quae in hoe habetur ut caederetur, sylva caedua is that kind of wood which is kept for the purpose of being cut. Dig. 50. 16. 30. According to Servius, it was that kind which, when cut down, grew up again from the trunks or roots. Id. See Dig. 7. 1. 10. 11; Id. 43. 24. 18.
