Meaning of Watercourse
A stream containing a definite bed, banks and channel which flows into some other river, stream, lake or the sea. Also a channel by means of which a particular water shed is drained, although it may be dry in certain seasons and despite the fact that it may not empty into any other river, stream, lake or body of water. Costello v Bowen. 182 P.2d615, 80 Cal.App.2d 621. A stream of water flowing in a definite direction or course in a bed with banks. Duckworth v Williams, 238 Ark. 1011, 386 S. W. 2d234. A stream of water of such well defined existence as to make its flow valuable to the owners of land along its course. Week v Los Angeles Countv Flood Control Dist. 104 CaI.App.2d 599, 232 P.2d 23.
Watercourse Alternative Definition
This term Is applied to the flow or movement of the water in rivers, creeks, and other streams. Surface water flowing from one tract to another having a fixed and determinate course, so as to uniformly discharge it upon the servient tract at a fixed and definite point, the course thus uniformly followed by the water in its flow is a watercourse. 177 111. 140.
