Meaning of Primary Evidence

That kind of evidence which, under every possible circumstance , affords the greatest certainty of the fact in question . A deed of land is a conspicuous instance of a document, which, if possible, must be produced as being the primary and best evidence of its existence and its contents. It is at the same time the direct and most convincing proof of its own being, and the most satisfactory evidence of its contents.
