Meaning of Pacifist

In a general sense, one who seeks to maintain peace and to abolish war and is also understood to mean one who refuses or is unwilling for any purpose to bear arms because of conscientious considerations, and who is disposed to encourage others in such refusal . See Macintosh v U.S., (C. A. Conn.) 42 F.2d 845.
