Mass Media
Definition of Mass Media
The Canada social science dictionary [1] provides the following meaning of Mass Media: Sociologically speaking in modern times the ‘community’ has been replaced by a ‘mass’, a set of autonomous and disconnected individuals, with little sense of community. The mass media then is that media (radio, television, newspapers, etc) which are targeted at the mass rather than at specific groups or communities.
