Epidemiology
Definition of Epidemiology
The Canada social science dictionary [1] provides the following meaning of Epidemiology: A term used largely in medical sociology and describing the study of the occurrence and distribution of diseases. Such investigations look for changes in the frequency of occurrence (or incidence) and association of diseases with particular physical or social locations. Epidemiological research can be conducted on crime – viewed as analogous to a disease of society – and a host of social problems.
