Meaning of Buggery
sodomy , carnal intercourse by a male person with another person or an animal consisting of penetration per anum, sometimes referred to as crime against nature or abominable crime. Fellatio is not buggery. Perkins v state of N. C, 234 F. Supp. 333 (D. C. N. C.).
Buggery Alternative Definition
Includes both “bestiality,” or carnal connection between a human being and a beast, and “sodomy,” or carnal connection between human beings against the order of nature. 3 Inst. 58.

The definition of Buggery in the law of the United States, as defined by the lexicographer Arthur Leff in his legal dictionary is:
A sexual crime encompassing perhaps as unspecifiable a range of activities as abominable and detestable crime against nature, but generally used to refer to sexual relations between men involving oral or anal penetration, also often called “sodomy.” Buggery may also include sexual relations between humans and animals, more specifically called “bestiality.”
