Alliance for Progress in Global Commerce Policy

In this regard, alliance for progress is: initially a ten-year development plan for Latin America containing economic and social objectives. The entries on trade policy are here. Among other aims, it was to find “a rapid and lasting solution to the grave problem created by excessive price fluctuations in the basic exports of Latin American countries” and to accelerate the economic integration of Latin America. Some progress was made over the years, but when the Alliance for Progress was formally ended in 1980, many thought that its achievements fell short of its aims.
