Traditional meaning of aequitas in English (with some legal use of this latin concept in England and the United States in the XIX Century) [1]: (in Latin) Equity, AEquitas sequitur legem: equity follows the law; see 2nd Book (“The Rights of Things”), Blackstone’s Commentaries on the Laws of England 330; 3 id. 441; 10 Pet. 210. AEquitas uxoribus, liberis, creditoribus maxime favet; equity favors wives and children, creditors most of all.
