A bill of exchange which a person has signed as drawer, acceptor, or indorser, without receiving value therefor and for the purpose of lending his name to some other person. (Bills of Exchange Act, 1882, s. 28, sub-s. 1.)

In the context of the English law, A Dictionary of Law provides the following legal concept of Accommodation Bill : A bill of exchange accepted by an accommodation party, i.e. a person who signs without receiving value and for the purpose of lending his name (i.e. his credit) to someone else.
