Meaning of Travellers Check

A negotiable instrument , being one of a set, purchased from a bank or a financial institution , constituting a complete purchase and sale of credit , and having the characteristics of a cashier ‘s check where issued by a bank and constituting a foreign bill of exchange . See Berrv v United States (C.A. 5 Fla.) 271 F.2d 775. Such a check is within the purview of article 3 of the uniform commercial code . See Gray v American express Co., 34 N. C.App. 714, 239 S. E.2d 621. before such bill is accepted, same has to be countersigned by the purchaser of the bill although it has been originally signed by purchaser at the time of issue . See Paul- ink v American Express Co., 265 Mass. 182, 163 N.E. 740.
