Meaning of Special Administrator

The term refers to an administrator with limited authority to care for and preserve the estate until an executor or general administrator is ascertained or appointed as its proper legal representative . Such an administrator does not have the power to administer the estate other than to take such steps as to preserve the same. See Bodine v Stinson, 461 P 2d 868, 85 Nev. 657.
