Concept of “Ratio”
Traditional meaning of ratio in English (with some legal use of this latin concept in England and the United States in the XIX Century) [1]: (in Latin) Reason. Ratio decidendi: the grounds of decision; see Robinson’s Elementary Law Rev. ed.; § 10. Ratio legis: the reason [occasion] of the law. Ratione contractus: by reason of the contract; impotentiae, inability, impotence; tenurae, of tenure, etc.
