Power of the county in the Dictionary of Law consisting of Judicial Definitions and Explanations of Words, Phrases and Maxims
The male inhabitants of a county, over fifteen years of age, whom the sheriff may command to aid him in preserving the peace, executing process, arresting felons, etc.; the posse comitatus. 1 Bl. Com. 313. See Sheriff; Warrant.
