Meaning of Non-residence, Non-resident

One who does not reside in or is not a resident of a particular place . The residence or non residence of an individual or a corporation is important in determining the jurisdiction of a court in matters where a judgment in personam is sought against such individual or corporation. See, for example, minimum contact . U.P. C. §1-201(26) defines a Non-resident decedent as a decedent who was domiciled in another jurisdiction at the time of his death .
