Meaning of Meeting

A coming together of persons; an assembly . In relation to corporations or congregations, an assembly of persons whose content is required for anything to decide, by a proper majority of votes, whether or not that thing should be done.

Meeting Alternative Definition

The word meeting implies a concurrence, or coming face to face of at least two persons. 46 L. J. Q. B. 104; W. N. (77) 223; 2 Q. B. D. 26; 25 W. R. 66; 36 L. T. 188. There is speaking generally, no meeting of shareholders or other bodies if only one attends; though no doubt in a particular statute the word might be used in a special sense, so that the attendance of one might satisfy. 46 L. J. Q. B. 104.
