Meaning of Maturity
The state of being full, ripe, of legal age. In relation to commercial paper , it is a time when the paper becomes due and demandable or time when an action could be maintained thereon to enforce payment . See Ardmore State Bank v Lee, 159 P. 903, 61 Okl. 169.

The time when a bill or note becomes due.
Financial Definition of Maturity
For a bond, the date on which the principal is required to be repaid. In an interest rate swap, the date that the swap stops accruing interest.
