Meaning of Lost
In relation to personal property , it is said to be lost when parted with casually and involuntarily as opposed to mislaid which occurs when property is intentionally placed or left somewhere and forgotten. See Rofrano v Duffy, (C.A.N. Y.J291 F.2d848. Something that cannot be found after a search but which is still in existence. In re Downie’s estate , 213 N.E.2d 833, 6 Ohio Misc. 36.
