Meaning of Judgment Debt
A debt for the recovery of which a judgment has been obtained from a court . Sometimes, even if the action itself was not for the recovery of moneys, if costs had been awarded to the successful party , and the costs had been taxed, then the costs so taxed would be a judgment debt.
