Meaning of Indirect Contempt

A form of contempt committed outside the presence of the court and without the judge having full personal knowledge of every element of the contempt. By its very nature, therefore , a court cannot take judicial notice of indirect contempt but it has to be established by proof . direct contempt, on the other hand, is one that is committed in immediate view or presence of the court.
