Housebreaking Alternative Definition

In criminal law. The breaking and entering the dwelling house of another, by night or by day, with intent to commit some felony within the same, whether such felonious intent is executed or not. Housebreaking by night is burglary. This crime is of a local character, and the evidence respecting the place must correspond with the allegation in the indictment.
