The style or title under which one or more persons carry on business .The partnership itself, that is, the individual members forming the partnership. Although, commercially, a firm is treated as though it is a separate legal entity, strictly, it is not. For the sake of convenience, rules of practice may permit a firm to sue or to be sued in its firm name.
