clause in life policy or industrial life policy permitting an insurer an option to make payments to any person appearing equitably entitled thereto. If such payment is made in good faith , the insurer is liable to no one else on the policy. An appointment by agreement between the parties who may receive payment of benefits or proceeds accruing under an insurance contract . Amounts paid by the insurer in good faith are held for the benefit of person ultimately entitled thereto.
