To broaden the application or action of; to expend; enlarge ; prolong; lengthen; widen; carry out further than the original limit. To extend a lease or contract is not necessarily the same as renew for the stipulation to renew requires the making of a new lease, while one to extend does not. Chalkley v Ward (Ga.App.) 166 S. E.2d 748.
