Meaning of Erroneous

Involving error; deviating from the law. there is a distinction in law between a process which is erroneous and which is irregular. The former stands until it is set aside while the latter is completely void. Thus, an erroneous judgment is one rendered in accordance with the method of procedure and practice allowed by law, but which is liable to be set aside on appeal . But a judgment rendered by a court having no jurisdiction is a void one. See Mills v Richardson, 81 S.E.2d 409, 240 N.C. 187.
