Meaning of Duplex House

A dwelling which is internally so constructed as to provide two sets of distinct apartments. In substance each building constitutes two houses which are structurally separate in every respect. It is merely a case of one house superimposed on another from which it is divided horizontally while in the ordinary case or semi-detached houses the division is vertical. See Donnelly v Spitza, 224 N. W. 396, 246 Mich. 284.
