In the context of the English law, A Dictionary of Law provides the following legal concept of Court of Last Resort : A court from which no appeal (or no further appeal) lies. In English law the *House of Lords is usually the court of last resort (although some cases may be referred to the *European Court of Justice). However, in some cases the *Court of Appeal is by statute the court of last resort.
