Meaning of Contingent use
A use limited In a deed or conveyance of land which may or may not happen to vest, according to the contingency expressed in the limitation of such use. Such a use as by possibility may happen in possession, reversion, or remainder. 1 Coke, 121; Comyn, Dig. “Uses” (K 6). A use limited to take effect upon the happening of some future contingent event; as where lands are conveyed to the use of A. and B. after a marriage had between them. 2 Sharswood, Bl. Comm. 234.
