English Legal System: Claimant
In the context of the English law, A Dictionary of Law provides the following legal concept of Claimant : A person applying for relief against another person in an action, suit, petition, or any other form of court proceeding. Before the introduction of the *Civil Procedure Rules in 1999, a claimant was called a plaintiff.
