Regulations, ordinances, rules or laws adopted by an association or corporation or the like for its government . The word is also used to designate a law enacted by a subordinate legislative body such as a municipality .

A set of rules for the procedural administration of a private club, corporation or other organization. These internally adopted rules are often quite detailed, but they are subject to and cannot contradict the terms of the entity”s charter, certificate of incorporation, etc. Cf municipal by-law.
