Alternative dispute resolution in Global Commerce Policy
In this regard, alternative dispute resolution is: a method of settling disputes through arbitration, consultation, dispute mediation, etc., outside the formal framework of court proceedings. The parties to the dispute usually appoint a disinterested person who attempts to bring down an outcome based on fairness and equity. The entries on trade policy are here. Alternative dispute resolution only works if the parties are genuinely committed to finding a solution and to accept a negotiated outcome since such awards are in most cases not enforceable through courts.
