Meaning of Aesnecia
In old English law. Esnecy; the right or privilege of the eldest born. Spelman; Glanv. lib. 7, c. 3; Fleta, lib. 2, c. 66, §§ 5, 6. The privilege allowed the eldest daughter of drawing first- in the partition of lands by lot. Called, also, pars enecia, enetia, or eneia. Bracton, fol. 75.
