The definition of Adjudication in bankruptcy in the law of the United States, as defined by the lexicographer Arthur Leff in his legal dictionary is:
Until the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1978, the determination that a person was a bankrupt was called an “adjudication in bankruptcy.” Under the new Act, the same determination is called an “order for relief.”
